Stuart’s solid content strategy has definitely made a lot of difference to his campaign. Content is King, and it continues to be, so this is one aspect SEO experts should always put a laser focus on. How did Stuart’s content strategy upped his game?
Stuart has been involved in the online marketing and search industry for over 15 years, mainly working with UK and Australian businesses ranging from SME’s to Multi-National corporations. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge in most things to do with SEO and loves what he does.
We worked with an Australian pet insurance company. It is a small to medium sized business competing for space on a 1st page that is mainly populated by much larger multinational companies.
WHAT YOU DID
We used a combination of technical onsite, content development and offsite strategy. We performed a manual site audit, using our 127 point checklist, we identified a number of issues that need fixing to improve the performance of the site. We developed the content of the site by adding new relevant and informative pages around different breeds of animals that provided valuable resources for third parties to link to, thereby improving link weight naturally.
Alongside manual investigation we use various tools to identify issues during the site audit. These include Screaming Frog, Google Search Console and Google Speed test amongst others. For the offsite strategy we used Ahrefs, Majestic SEO and MOZ as well as good old elbow grease.
Our client is a small SME company competing with multinational insurance companies with huge marketing budgets, so we had to think outside the box to create strategies that were highly effective but within tightly a controlled budget. The creation of new highly relevant pages with great informative content, combined with our experience in link outreach was one area that we feel gave us an advantage.
Our client climbed to the top of page one for their main keyword and also appears in the top 5 for thousands of other keywords. This has resulted in an exponential increase in relevant traffic, conversions and business growth.
